Crafted in Lucent Steel™ and paired with a brown calfskin leather strap, the case offers perfectly balanced proportions, measuring just 7.2 mm thick with a 40 mm diameter that frames a generously sized dial.
The dial features a sector layout inspired by 1930s design, strongly influenced by the Art Deco and Bauhaus movements. Two concentric rings structure the display of the hours and minutes, while radial hour markers create a clean, highly legible geometric composition. Finished with a satin-brushed sunburst effect, the dial shifts elegantly between deep shadows and luminous highlights, revealing the full richness of its Prussian Blue hue.
Originally discovered by chance in the 18th century by a colour maker in Berlin—then the capital of Prussia—this richly saturated shade pays tribute to the unique history of the Canton of Neuchâtel, where Chopard established its Fleurier Manufacture 30 years ago. Between 1707 and 1857, the region formed part of the Kingdom of Prussia while simultaneously becoming a Swiss canton in 1815, a unique situation in European history. By choosing this iconic pigment, renowned for its stability, depth and exceptional ability to capture light, Chopard creates a symbolic connection between the timepiece and its place of origin.
The remarkably slim profile of the case is made possible by the L.U.C 96.12-L calibre, a direct evolution of the first movement designed and produced by Chopard Manufacture in Fleurier in 1996. Measuring just 3.30 mm thick, this self-winding movement is equipped with a 22-carat gold micro-rotor that efficiently winds two stacked barrels using Chopard Twin technology, delivering a 65-hour power reserve. The calibre also features a stop-seconds mechanism for precise time-setting and is certified as a chronometer by the COSC, attesting to its exceptional accuracy. The small seconds display at 6 o'clock, a signature feature of the XPS model, is not merely a design element but also fulfils one of the specific requirements established by the independent Swiss chronometer certification institute.
