Performance-oriented features such as exceptional durability, optimal legibility, and maximum precision are deeply rooted in IWC’s DNA as a watch manufacturer. With the Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph, the brand introduces a chronograph optimized for high performance.
This version pays tribute to the Mercedes-AMG PETRONAS Formula One™ Team, of which IWC has been the "Official Engineering Partner" since 2013. The 41 mm case and case ring are crafted from Ceratanium®—an IWC-developed material derived from a special titanium alloy. It combines the lightweight and structural integrity of titanium with the hardness and scratch resistance of ceramic.
A standout functional feature of the watch is the ceramic bezel with a tachymeter scale, which allows the wearer to calculate average speed based on distance traveled. Paired with the glossy black ceramic bezel, the model features a black dial with a polished finish. The recessed subdials, blackened nickel hands, applied indices and numerals filled with Super-LumiNova® add depth and ensure excellent legibility in low-light conditions.
The Pilot’s Watch Performance Chronograph 41 is powered by the IWC-manufactured 69385 calibre. This mechanical chronograph movement consists of 242 individual components and can be viewed through the tinted sapphire glass case back. Its bi-directional pawl winding system delivers a power reserve of 46 hours in the mainspring. The chronograph mechanism is controlled via a column wheel, enabling precise engagement of the individual timing functions. The pushers offer crisp, tactile feedback when pressed.
A signature IWC feature, the chronograph has a vertical layout of subdials, with chronograph minutes displayed at 12 o’clock for enhanced legibility. Water-resistant to 10 bar, the watch is fitted with a durable, water-resistant black rubber strap secured by a Ceratanium® pin buckle.
