Milan Fashion Week: a universe of elegance for Him

From 17 to 21 January 2025, Milan was the epicentre of masculine elegance: Men's Fashion Week 2025 brought the Fall/Winter 2025-2026 collections to the catwalk, offering an overview of the emerging trends and new styles for the coming season, including newcomers, big names and a plethora of events that, as always, brought the city to life.

Men's Fashion Week in Milan is an unmissable event, not only for industry professionals, but for fashion lovers from all over the world who tune in to the Milanese frequencies to discover all the previews of upcoming trends and inspirations.

Milan Fashion Week 2025: debuts, absences and welcome returns

The fashion shows scheduled in the MFW Uomo calendar, which can now be accessed even by those without an exclusive invitation thanks to streaming and live broadcasts on social media, featured big brands and new fashion labels.

For Pierre-Louis Mascia, the fashion house which opened Fashion Week, it was the first time on the Milan catwalks, as it was for PDF by Domenico Formichetti and for Saul Nash. The finalist of the Camera Moda Fashion Trust Grant, Federico Cina, hosted by the Sozzani Foundation, left his mark with his poetic, nostalgic and yet innovative vision.

Some notable absences, including Gucci, Fendi, Etro and Moschino, chose to hold a single men's and women's show during Fashion Week in February, while labels like Philipp Plein and Pronounce celebrated their return to the Milan catwalk in an edition that used past and future to emphasise the importance of celebrating history, while also focusing increasingly on new talents and innovation.

Men's Fashion Week was definitely characterised by the elegance of the collections, but there was no lack of surprises, such as the wedding celebrated at the end of JordanLuca's fashion show between Jordan Bowen and Luca Marchetto, the creative duo and soul of the brand, complete with the all-important wedding cake.

Men's Fashion Week: the most popular trends

MFW Uomo is, more than anything else, a melting pot of trends: what we saw on the catwalk will largely dictate the trends that will influence the way we dress next season.

Among the recurring elements in the Men's Fashion Week shows, faux fur coats and details certainly didn't go unnoticed.  From Dolce & Gabbana to Prada and Zegna, the various fur coats or “simple” fur-trimmed lapels suggest that this material will be a must-have in fall/winter 2025 wardrobes.

Remaining in the animal inspired world, the shows confirm the animal print trend thanks to bold looks such as those seen on the catwalks of Emporio Armani, Dolce & Gabbana and Pierre-Louis Mascia. Leopard-print coats, bomber jackets, shirts and accessories will be adding a wild touch to men's outfits next season.

As far as colours are concerned, brown wins over all the others: from chocolate to tobacco, including mocha mousse, the Pantone colour of 2025, a shade which was seen at its best on the catwalks.

Technical garments were a must, also in the “mountain look” versions, as we saw in the Emporio Armani show, in a display of colours and volumes that make even the sportiest outfits elegant and refined.

Highlights of MFW Uomo: jewel details

After the watches that stole the show at the 2025 Golden Globes, now we turn our gaze to the jewel details that stole the show at MFW Uomo.

They appeared mainly in the Dolce & Gabbana show, but caught everyone's attention, so much so that there's already talk of a real trend for next season: jewel details on jacket lapels are stylish accents that embellish a look and give it personality, creating an allure that's a cross between eccentric and luxurious.

The jewelled brooch is an essential accessory and, together with the watch, is ideal for the man who wants to stand out for his sophistication. The brooch is an ancient fashion accessory that is back in vogue, not only in precious versions, but also in all its variations, from Prada's flowers to Simon Cracker's pin pops.

Thanks to their sophisticated and often bold design, jewels and watches attract attention, emphasise contrasts and add a touch of elegance that transforms every outfit into a work of art in motion.
