The watches worn by the stars enchant the Golden Globes 2025

The Golden Globes 2025, which honour the season's best TV series and films, were staged on 5 January, in an exclusive evening hosted at The Beverly Hilton hotel in Los Angeles, bringing together actors and actresses, celebrities and personalities from the star system. The red carpet of the 82^nd Annual Golden Globes was lined with stunning gowns, jewellery and more. Eyes on the wrists of the celebrities: some precious timepieces of haute horlogerie dominated the scene as key players in an evening which, between nominations and winners, and glamorous looks in varying degrees of extravagance, confirmed itself as one of the most eagerly awaited events of the year.  

Jaeger-LeCoultre: examples of rare beauty on the red carpet

Appearing at the Golden Globes 2025 as a special guest, Andrew Garfield certainly did not go unnoticed. In his forest green Gucci by Sabato De Sarno 70s-style suit, the Californian actor wore an exclusive Jaeger-LeCoultre timepiece on his wrist: the Reverso Tribute Monoface Small Seconds with an ultra-slim rectangular case, black strap and 18k rose gold detailing, guaranteeing an elegant, minimalist look that perfectly matched the outfit chosen for the occasion. 

Ke Huy Quan, who won an Oscar for “Everything Everywhere All at Once” in 2023,  also made his mark on the red carpet of the Golden Globes 2025, thanks to a very refined choice of watch: inspired by models from the 1930s Reverso Tribute Duoface Tourbillon, also by the Swiss brand, complements the Thom Browne tuxedo, reinterpreting the classic with a bold and highly refined touch. The Reverso with its simply sophisticated design was a perfect match for the classic tuxedo revamped by the sporty stripe on the jacket, making Ke Huy Quan's look was one of the best at the Golden Globes. 

IWC Schaffhausen: versatile elegance

On the red carpet at the Golden Globes 2025, Swiss brand IWC Schaffhausen confirmed the versatility of its timepieces, capable of interpreting different styles in the name of elegance and functionality.  

Japanese actor Hiroyuki Sanada, winner of “Best Actor” in a drama series for his performance in “Shōgun”, wore the Portugieser Automatic 42 with a “Silver Moon” dial and 42 mm steel case, combined with a bespoke Ralph Lauren Purple Label look. The extremely elegant result certainly did not go unnoticed. 

Dwayne Johnson's look didn't go unnoticed either but had a diametrically opposing character: he wore the new IWC Schaffhausen Portguiser Eternal Calendar on his wrist, paired with a Dolce & Gabbana shirt and jacket in shades of lavender. Appearing at the Golden Globes as the star of Moana 2, among the nominees for “Best Animated Motion Picture”, The Rock charmed the audience with his choice of a veritable jewel of haute horlogerie: with its platinum case, glass components and black alligator skin strap, the Portuguiser Eternal Calendar has a secular perpetual calendar that takes leap years into account for 400 years and has a moon-phase display with a mathematical precision of 45 million years. A timepiece that displays the American actor's exquisite taste in wristwatches once more.

Vacheron Constantin: excellence on show at the Golden Globes 2025

Nominated for “Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for his performance in Hit Man, Glen Powell attracted attention at the Golden Globes 2025 with an exceptional watch by Vacheron Constantin, the world's oldest watchmaker. The Dual Time Overseas in gold, with dual time zone and day/night indication, adds a touch of refined elegance to his classic all-black look.

Jeff Goldblum also turned to the Geneva-based brand to shine, literally, on the red carpet of the Golden Globes 2025. Vacheron Constantin's Traditionelle Moonphase adds even more light to the Amiri suit worn by the star of “Wicked”: in white gold, the precious timepiece has a diamond- encrusted dial and case and a precision moon-phase indicator revealing a starry sky. Poetic, luxurious, an emblem of excellence, this complication requires adjustment only once every 122 years. The extraordinary detailing of the hand-wound mechanical movement is clearly visible thanks to the skeleton back. 

Cartier: the understated elegance of a legend

Unfailingly present at the grand soiree, the Parisian maison appeared on the wrist of Jake Gyllenhaal, one of the nominees for “Best Actor in a drama series” for his performance in “Presumed Innocent”. The iconic 1920s vintage-inspired Cartier Tortue yellow gold with Breguet hands was quite simply the most perfect model to complete his outfit by Prada. 

Another star who chose Cartier, in this case for his touching acceptance speech, was Sebastian Stan, winner of the Golden Globe for “Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy” for “A Different Man”. His decision to wear a vintage Cartier Fabergé in yellow gold, which retains all the charm of this model, with its delicate tonneau case, now out of production, was rather unusual. 

Lastly, a special mention goes to Elton John who, together with American singer-songwriter Brandi Carlile, announced the winner for “Best Original Soundtrack” wearing an extraordinary Rolex Cosmograph Daytona in 18k white gold, with a natural mother-of-pearl dial embellished with eight diamonds, three Chromalight indexes and a bezel decorated with 36 brilliant-cut diamonds. Amazing.
