L’ora di riferimento – quella del luogo d’origine o dell’abituale luogo di lavoro di chi indossa l’orologio – è indicata sul disco decentrato delle 24 ore tramite un triangolo rosso fisso. Grazie alla visualizzazione 24 ore del disco, è possibile distinguere senza equivoci le ore del giorno da quelle della notte del fuso orario di riferimento. I quadranti sono ora dotati di indici rettangolari, di lancette più lunghe e della visualizzazione Chromalight con luminescenza a emissioni di lunga durata, che ne migliorano ulteriormente la leggibilità.
Il mese in corso è indicato dal colore rosso intenso all’interno di una delle 12 finestrelle rettangolari sul quadrante, una caratteristica che contraddistingue il calendario annuale Saros. Questo ingegnoso meccanismo semplifica la vita di chi indossa l’orologio, che non deve più preoccuparsi di correggere la data alla fine dei mesi di 30 giorni. Il calendario annuale indica la data corretta per tutto l’anno. È necessaria un’unica regolazione, il 1° marzo, in base alla durata del mese di febbraio di 28 o 29 giorni. La data è collegata all’ora locale e si aggiorna automaticamente in funzione del fuso orario locale di chi viaggia.

The Rolex fluted bezel is a mark of distinction. Originally, the fluting of the Oyster bezel had a functional purpose: it served to screw the bezel onto the case, helping to ensure the waterproofness of the watch. It was therefore identical to the fluting on the case back, which was also screwed onto the case for waterproofness, using specific Rolex tools. Over time, the fluting became an aesthetic element, a genuine Rolex signature feature. Today the fluted bezel is a mark of distinction, always in gold. The Sky-Dweller is equipped with a mechanism of interaction between the rotatable bezel, the winding crown and the movement: the Ring Command system, which allows the user to select the watch's functions one-by-one and to set them easily, quickly and securely.
