Patek Philippe
for PISA 1940
DÔME CLOCKS

These two references (1551 and 1552) are unique pieces, created on the occasion of the opening of the Patek Philippe boutique in Pisa 1940 , in 2008 , and are inspired by the works of Antonio Ligabue who lived the most important part of his life in Gualtieri (in province of Reggio Emilia), where he maintained friendly relations with the Pisa family, originally from that city. With these two Pendolettes the Pisa family wanted to pay homage to a friend and one of the most influential artists of the 20th century.

The reference 1551 recalls the animal world: the dome depicts a leopard, inspired by Ligabue's painting "Leopard with antelope". The curved side panels recall the paintings by the same painter "Leopard with a sunset sky" and "Lion attacking two antelopes".

The ref. 1552, on the other hand, is characterized by a floral theme: the dome and three of the curved walls reproduce a vase of flowers with butterflies, bees and other bunches and garlands of flowers inspired by the "Vase of Flowers".

The finish is the flagship of every Patek Philippe: it is carried out by the careful and expert hand of a craftsman who is the custodian of an art passed down from generation to generation.
