ONE TOOL, SEVERAL TIME ZONES
The design of the GMTMaster II is immediately recognizable thanks to the graduated bezel disk available in a two-tone version – where the lower half symbolizes the hours of the day and the upper half, the hours of the night – with different color combinations.
The GMTMaster II, with traditional hand display of the hours, minutes and seconds, 24-hour hand with triangular tip and bidirectional rotating bezel with 24-hour graduated Cerachrom disc, allows you to simultaneously read the time in two time zones: the local time and the reference time, or local time and the time of another time zone.
The latest generation GMTMaster II is equipped with the caliber 3285, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and produced by Rolex. Quintessential Rolex technology, it guarantees high performance in terms of precision, autonomy, comfort of use and reliability. It features the exclusive blue Parachrom hairspring and includes the patented Chronergy escapement. This movement boasts a power reserve of approximately seventy hours.
HIGH TECH CERAMIC
The Cerachrom bezel disc is made by Rolex in a single block, using extremely resistant ceramics. These hi-tech materials are practically scratchproof and keep the colors bright over time. In 2013 Rolex marks a turning point in the use of ceramic in watchmaking by presenting a two-tone monobloc disc in blue and black ceramic. A year later the brand unveils a red and blue Cerachrom disc – the colors of the original GMTMaster. To develop a red ceramic capable of satisfying its aesthetic and quality criteria, the Brand conducts unprecedented and innovative research.
Over the years, Rolex presents other color combinations, such as brown and black (2018) and green and black (2022), in a version with winding crown and crown protection shoulders positioned on the left side of the case and date window at 9 am. The most recent innovation is the gray and black Cerachrom disc proposed in 2023 on two versions of the GMT-Master II, one in a yellow Rolesor version and the other entirely made of 18 ct yellow gold.
SUPERLATIVE CHRONOMETER CERTIFICATION
Like all Rolex watches, the GMTMaster II boasts Superlative Chronometer certification. This title certifies that each watch that leaves the brand's laboratories has successfully passed a series of tests conducted by Rolex in its laboratories according to its own criteria. Superlative Chronometer status is symbolized by the green seal that accompanies every Rolex watch along with a five-year international warranty.
