The Lange 1, one of the first models presented in 1994—the symbolic year of A. Lange & Söhne’s rebirth—is today one of the most recognizable and iconic timepieces in haute horlogerie. This rare example, Ref. 101.022, stands out not only for its timeless design but also for features no longer in production, making it a truly exceptional collector’s piece.

Its asymmetrical dial, precisely arranged according to the golden ratio, achieves perfect harmony between the outsize date at 1 o'clock, small seconds, power reserve indicator, and off-center time display. What makes this watch even more unique and desirable are the heat-blued hands, manually finished through a traditional process at 290°C—an artisanal technique no longer used in current models.

The case is crafted from 18kt yellow gold, a prestigious material that—like platinum—is now available only in a very limited number of A. Lange & Söhne boutiques.

Inside, it houses the manual-winding movement, with a double mainspring barrel delivering a 72-hour power reserve. Composed of over 400 components, all hand-finished in the Saxon tradition, it represents the pinnacle of German watchmaking.
