The 41 mm polished stainless steel case, with its clean and well-proportioned lines, frames a deep burgundy dial—rare and sophisticated, standing out with understated distinction.

First introduced in the 1990s, the Portugieser Chronograph quickly became one of IWC Schaffhausen’s most iconic models. Born as a sportier evolution of the historic Portugieser line—originally developed in the 1930s at the request of two Portuguese merchants seeking a wristwatch with marine chronometer accuracy—this reference has gained a global following thanks to its balanced design and refined mechanical engineering.

The dial features applied Arabic numerals and a classic railway-style minute track, along with two perfectly symmetrical chronograph subdials: minutes at 12 o’clock and running seconds at 6. The clean layout and sharp hands ensure excellent legibility, while the absence of a date window preserves the aesthetic purity.

A hand-stitched black alligator leather strap reinforces the watch’s formal and understated character. Inside, the in-house automatic caliber 69355 powers the timepiece, visible through a sapphire caseback, offering a power reserve of approximately 46 hours.
