Miniature painting on enamel in 6 colors intensified the lifelike quality of the scene, particularly notable in the finesse of the stonework, the foam on the heaving waves and the dance of the birds battling against the wind. Each dial underwent from 11 to 12 firings at a temperature of 820°C. The rose-gold case contains a solid case back and harmonious proportions inspired by the ancient golden section. The hours and minutes are displayed by cheveu-style hands, stamped in rose gold.
